Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and the Song of Solomon are the books of Wisdom we find in our Bible. They address in many and various ways this question: what is the Good Life? They aren’t centered on making money or gaining status for its own sake, and they aren’t based in a form of individualism. The Good Life is always the life lived before God and in the presence of neighbor.
Some of it is practical advice on living a life that allows you to sleep at night. Other parts are devoted to praising the God who created all things for good. And there’s some sex thrown in for good measure.
