I wake up looking at new walls, and it isn’t the Davidson’s house I see out my bedroom window. I don’t know my neighbors or the area code. For the first time in twenty years, home is someplace new – Manchester, Vermont.

Just before I left Wareham, Massachusetts, my library coworkers gave me a book: Frances Mayes’ A Place In The World: Finding the Meaning of Home. I’m looking forward to reading it, especially in these early days of settling into a new place. I’ve reflected on the various places I called home in years past, but perhaps it’s time to take a look at this new place…
