Library Lessons

I’ve spent many hours in libraries. I’ve had library cards to many public libraries, checked out countless books from school libraries, and found vital information in university and graduate school libraries. Now, I can access libraries from my home computer, checking out ebooks, films, and audio downloads. It’s amazing, the information at my real and virtual fingertips.

These days, I spend most of my library time at the Wareham Free Library. Its funding has been cut in the last few years, and it’s lost staff and certification. It’s no longer open as often as it should be. Still, it’s a quiet space that connects me to life here in Wareham and to the much larger world.

For the next few weeks, A Pen and a Prayer will be at the library, seeking the wisdom of God among its stacks, staff, and grounds…
